Northwest ISD’s Up Coming Year
Tuesday, August 26, will mark the first day of school in Northwest ISD, and we are looking forward to the new year with great anticipation. From sparkling floors to new hire orientations, much is happening to prepare for the new school year. If your child is a new or returning NISD student, you may register online at www.nisdtx.org/enrollment. Additional back to school information, such as meet the teacher nights and registration for our new VIPS volunteer system, can be found at www.nisdtx.org/backtoschool.
Our teachers and staff are also making sure they are prepared for the new year, and I am referring to much more than decorating bulletin boards and revising curriculum. As a district working to lead a transformational change in education while preparing all students to be future-ready, our staff must explore new philosophies, new technology tools and applications, and discover ways to overcome new challenges. Young students are often amused to learn that their teachers go to school, but, yes, in a district striving to engage students in a premier education, our staff attends and leads many trainings and conferences in an effort to learn and collaborate with others. Shining examples of lifelong learners, it has been a joy to witness the excitement, engagement, and application of new ideas as our teachers and administrators have grown from these learning opportunities.
In Northwest ISD, our vision is to be the best and most sought-after school district where every student is future ready: ready for college, ready for the global workplace, and ready for personal success. When I consider our staff’s enthusiasm, the support of the community, and the joy and confidence students have in learning, I know that we are headed in the right direction. As we prepare for the start of another promising year, I thank you once again for supporting education and the students of Northwest ISD.
