Haltom City volunteers set to bash trash
Keep Haltom City Beautiful volunteers are giving residents an opportunity to get involved in protecting the local watershed by signing up for the annual Trinity Trash Bash. The Haltom City location is the Birdville Environmental Study Center at 5502 Haltom Road. The cleanup will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 20. It will wrap up with a picnic for volunteers. All cleanup supplies will be provided, and volunteers receive giveaways and door prizes.

Haltom City is one of more than 25 North Central Texas cities gearing up for the annual bash, with events scheduled throughout the month of September and October. Individuals, group leaders, educators and community service organizations will engage thousands of event volunteers and participants in well-organized cleanup, recycling and education events led by members of the Trinity River Environmental Education Society (TREES).
Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to take part in these efforts that will clean and beautify the banks of the Trinity River and its tributaries and educate the public about the importance of the Trinity River as a primary source of water in the Metroplex.
