Gov. Perry Appoints Sweeten as Presiding Officer of Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Randy Sweeten of McAllen as presiding officer of the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2016. Regional mobility authorities accelerate the development and financing of critical transportation projects throughout the state.
Sweeten is a certified public accountant (CPA) and senior partner of Long Chilton, LLP. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. He is a member, past executive board member and past treasurer of the Texas Society of CPAs, and a licensed investment advisor through the National Planning Corporation. He is also a member and past president of the Rio Grande Valley Estate Planning Council, past board chairman of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation and the Valley Land Fund, and a past member of the Texas Department of Economic Development Governing Board.
Sweeten received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Houston and a master’s degree in accounting from The University of Texas-Pan American.
