CITY TAX RATE UNCHANGED FOR NEXT YEAR, NEW BUDGET APPROVED
At the Sept. 16 City Council meeting, Council members voted unanimously to maintain the city’s property tax rate at $0.3559 per $100 valuation. With the exception of a less-than-one-cent, voter-approved tax increase to build two new fire stations (approved in a 2005 bond election), the city’s tax rate has remained unchanged for almost two decades.
The City Council also approved the fiscal year 2015 city budget. The $39.5 million budget takes effect when the city’s fiscal year begins on Oct. 1. View the fiscal year 2015 budget as presented to the City Council here.
