KISD Drug & Alcohol Abuse Prevention Coordinator Attends Mental Health Event
Marcene Weatherall, KISD’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Coordinator, attended a discussion regarding the regional mental health landscape on Sept. 8 at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens.
The event, entitled “Texas State of Mind,” was hosted by the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute and Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County.
Among the featured speakers and panelists were Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck and MMHPI President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Luce. Panels of local experts discussed Tarrant County issues surrounding the state of mental health services for children, veterans and individuals involved in the justice system.
The event is one of six “Texas State of Mind” activities that the Institute is hosting this fall around the state. Similar upcoming events are also scheduled in Amarillo, Laredo, Houston and Round Rock.
