KISD Dyslexia Specialists Host Screening of ‘The Big Picture’
Keller ISD’s Dyslexia Specialists invite parents and community members to a screening of The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia, a film that aims to clear up misconceptions about the most common learning difference seen in today’s students.
The screening will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 16, in the Central High School Fine Arts Center (9450 Ray White Road).
While 1-in-5 students struggle with the condition, it remains to be one of the most publicly misunderstood learning disabilities. The film provides personal and uplifting accounts of the dyslexic experience from children, experts, and iconic leaders, such as Sir Richard Branson and Financier Charles Schwab. It not only clears up misconceptions about the condition, but also paints a picture of home for all who struggle with it.
Following the screening, KISD Dyslexia Specialists will host a discussion on the film and the condition in general.
