BNHS Students Receives International Business Awards
Byron Nelson High School senior Lauren Perez is the recipient of the Future 50 International ANDY Award. To be eligible for this contest, students submitted solutions to a problem in their school, community country or world in a format of their choice as an example of an overall campaign. After being selected a finalist, Perez has been selected from students across the globe as this year’s winner and will receive a $3,000 scholarship check.
Byron Nelson High School senior Jett Monroe has been selected from thousands of high school students across the nation to participate as a Free Agent Entrepreneur in the Ashoka’s Catapult Business Program at Stanford and Harvard. Monroe will be working with teams alongside corporate and MBA advisors to build and launch a business venture by April 2015.
Perez and Monroe are members of Byron Nelson High School’s Virtual Enterprises International (VEI) business program. VEI students travel virtually out of the classroom and into a corporate environment where they run their own business firms and compete at the national and international level with students in 7,800 firms. This is Byron Nelson High School’s first international award.
