SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN will be interpreted for the deaf and hearing impaired by Zachary Rocha and Caroline McDonald on Tuesday November 18, 2014 at 7:30pm.

At Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, it is a Wednesday night, December 24, 1941, eighteen days after Pearl Harbor and FDR’s declaration of war. Though the war has been gaining momentum in the US for several years, the direct involvement in battle at Christmastime has brought family members from far and wide for what might be their last holiday together. The Sanders Family first performed at Mount Pleasant Baptist in June of 1938, after a five-year hiatus from the Gospel Circuit. Since then, they have returned to Mount Pleasant each year at Homecoming. This is their last performance before the war forces the group to disband.
If you loved SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN you will love this holiday-themed sequel. The Sanders Family is back with their own special way of celebrating. SANDERS FAMILY CHRISTMAS is packed with lots of Christmas carols and Gospel songs that will send you on your way singing through the rest of the holidays.
