NISD Honors Justin Resident and Veteran with High School Diploma
PHOTO: Northwest ISD recognized and presented Justin resident and World War II veteran Don Miller with his high school diploma at the November 10 school board meeting. Mr. Miller could not receive his high school diploma because he was serving in the war.
“I could speak for hours about how much I love Northwest ISD,” said Justin resident and World War II Veteran Don Miller. Don Miller is a World War II veteran and was not able to receive his high school diploma due to the war. He was supposed to graduate high school in 1947 but instead was serving in the war beginning in 1946.
Texas Education Code provides for a school district to issue a high school diploma to certain veterans. Northwest ISD honored Don Miller and presented him his long awaited high school diploma at the district’s school board meeting on Monday, November 10. Help Northwest ISD spread the word to other area veterans who may not have received their high school diploma due to war service.
