Gov. Perry Appoints Sanders to Assistive and Rehabilitative Services Council
Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Aureka Sanders of DeSoto to the Assistive and Rehabilitative Services Council for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2015. The council assists the commissioner of the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services in developing rules and policies for the agency.
Sanders is a human resources manager for BNSF Railway in Fort Worth. She is a member of the Fort Worth Human Resources Management Association and the Society for Human Resources Management, and a member and past staffing co-chair of the Professional Emphasis Groups for Dallas HR. She is also a volunteer for United Way of Fort Worth, North Texas LEAD and Chapel Spring Baptist Church in Beckville.
Sanders received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a master’s degree in secondary education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
