Keller ISD Students Plan Special Gift for a Special Friend

Keller ISD Students Plan Special Gift for a Special Friend

Students at Trinity Springs Middle School are planning a holiday surprise for a very special friend on Thursday, December 18.

Students involved with Peer Assisted Leadership Skills (PALS) assist Life Skills students during Physical Education classes by participating in various sports and activities. One particular Trinity Springs Middle School Life Skills student is quite the sports enthusiast and especially enjoys basketball, but he is wheelchair-bound. The student is therefore only able to participate in basketball games using PALS students as his proxy, fist bumping them when he wants them to shoot.

On Thursday, things will change for the student. PALS students have been secretly designing and constructing a catapult/trebuchet that will enable the student to hit a lever and shoot basketballs by himself.

Students will surprise the young man with their gift at approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday, December 18, in the Trinity Springs Middle School Gym, 3550 Keller Hicks Road, Keller, 76244.

Please do not publicize the surprise until after Thursday’s event. If you are interested in visiting Trinity Springs Middle School for the surprise gift reveal, please contact Keller ISD Communications at 817-744-1021 or Communications@KellerISD.net.
