Extreme Makeover – Classroom Edition

After weeks of preparation and anticipation, James M. Steele AHS teacher, Rachelle Cooper and her students will realize their dream of learning in a ‘flipped’ classroom environment. Representatives from BKM will deliver and install $40,000.00 of classroom furniture that fits the model of 21st century learning. This model encourages critical-thinking and problem-solving skills within the classroom.

WHY – After weeks of preparation and anticipation, James M. Steele AHS teacher, Rachelle Cooper andher students will realize their dream of learning in a ‘flipped’ classroom environment. Representatives from BKM will deliver and install $40,000.00 of classroom furniture that fits the model of 21st century learning. This model encourages critical-thinking and problem-solvingskills within the classroom.

Steele Accelerated High School provides a unique experience for secondary students in an unique learning environment. “Not everyone learns the same way,” says Steele Accelerated High School Principal Robin Ellis. “This campus provides an avenue to accelerate students in their future endeavors.” The campus opened in 2010 and is home to The Cosmetology Academy/Shears of Steele Salon and The Collegiate Academy.
