The Fire Departments’ Fire Rescue Camp Registration Underway
One of Colleyville’s most popular programs returns this summer-the Colleyville Fire Department’s Fire Rescue Camp. For one week this summer, kids in the program will get the opportunity to experience life as a firefighter.
Conducted by real firefighters, the camp provides hands-on experience in the day-to-day skills required to be a firefighter and instills a sense of individual responsibility and team work. Campers participate in controlled firefighting exercises, learn and practice CPR, first aid, and fire prevention. Fire Rescue Camps are open to both boys and girls.
The camp is scheduled June 8-12. This is a half-day camp with two sessions – from 8:00 a.m. until noon and from 1:00-5:00 p.m. It all takes place at the Colleyville Central Fire Station, 5209 Colleyville Blvd. The camps are open to students ages 9-13 only; Colleyville residents are given first priority. Cost for the camp is $125 and registration is required. The last day to register is Friday, May 29. For more information, call 817.503.1400.
