Art Students Paint Tiles for “Healing Ceilings”
Art students in all grade levels participated in Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford’s “Healing Ceilings” project by hand-painting ceiling tiles to be installed in the hospital’s emergency department. The artwork was displayed in an “Evening at the Gallery” at Texas Health HEB. Docents also gave tours of the patient room where tiles have already been installed in the ceiling to demonstrate how the tiles will look throughout the emergency department.
Art can improve patients’ overall outcomes, treatment, and quality of life. HEB ISD students have created almost 100 tiles to be installed in Texas Health HEB’s emergency department patient rooms to help relieve anxiety, decrease pain and offer hope through “Healing Ceilings.”
