Federal Judge Halts EPA Water Rule

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today issued the following statement after a federal judge in North Dakota issued a temporary injunction order preventing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from implementing its sweeping plan to extend its control over the Waters of the United States (WOTUS):

“The Obama Administration’s ongoing and extreme attempts to reach into the personal lives and personal property of American citizens knows no bounds and must be stopped. The temporary injunction preventing the EPA from implementing WOTUS is a necessary and positive step toward preventing a dangerous and ill-conceived set of regulations from taking effect,” Attorney General Ken Paxton said. “The Obama Administration’s overreaching attempt to extend federal control of water resources on personal property from coast to coast represents yet another Washington power grab, and we will continue to pursue our state’s own case against the EPA in order to shield Texans from the worst of these abuses.”
