Richland Elementary’s “Wear Birdville High School Shirts to School” day is Monday, Sept. 14 in honor of the BHS Homecoming Parade.

 

Birdville Elementary is hosting a first-grade parent meeting night at 6 p.m. Sept. 15.

 

Birdville Elementary is hosting a kindergarten parent meeting night at 6 p.m. Sept. 17.

 

Foster Village Elementary’s PTA meeting begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

Richland High School’s TheatRebels production of “The True History of the Tragic Life and Triumphant Death of Julia Pastrana: The Ugliest Woman in the World” is Saturday, Sept. 19 through Tuesday, Sept. 22 in the RHS Black Box. Show times are: 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19; 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20; 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21; and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22. Tickets are $5 at the door.

BISD’s 23rd annual Career & Technology Education Advisory Committee Scholarship Golf Scramble is Wednesday, Sept. 23 at Iron Horse Golf Course in North Richland Hills. The entry deadline is Sept. 14. Tee-off is at 8 a.m. with lunch following at 12:30 p.m. The fee for individuals is $95 and teams are $380. Registration includes: greens fee, cart, golf balls, tees and lunch. Proceeds from the Scholarship Scramble benefit BISD Career & Technology Education students who plan to continue their education. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Richland Elementary is having a Spirit Night from 5–9 p.m. Sept. 29 at Spring Creek Barbeque. Spring Creek is at 1509 Airport Freeway in Bedford. Proceeds will help fourth-grade students go on a field trip to Austin in March.

BISD is accepting online applications for parent/community volunteers for the 2015‒16 school year. New and returning volunteers can submit or renew their applications online atwww.birdvilleschools.net/volunteerapplication.

 

BISD has an employee recognition program called “A Touch of Class.” This program is an opportunity for students, staff, parents and community members to recognize employees for the extra-ordinary things they do for children and the district. Birdville ISD and JPS have joined together to provide two school-based clinics in the district. One is in Haltom City at 2807 Layton Ave., and the other is on the south side of The Academy at C.F. Thomas at 8200 O’Brian Way in North Richland Hills. The clinics treat students in BISD and their siblings, ages newborn to 18 years old. Services include:  well-child visits, sports physicals, acute care, chronic illnesses (asthma, diabetes), immunizations, and much more. The clinic does not have X-ray capabilities or dental services.
