School Board Meeting Monday
The Carroll ISD School Board will holds its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the CISD Board Room, located at 2400 North Carroll. View Monday night’s agenda here.

Dragons vs. Trinity Showdown Tonight at Pennington Field
The Carroll Dragons face Trinity at 7:30 p.m. at Bedford’s Pennington Field in one of the state’s biggest matchups. Both teams are undefeated in District 7-6A play. Communication With Kids: Helping Kids Decrease Stress & Anxiety
Carroll ISD counseling department hosts Erin Smith, M.Ed., LPC, as she shares communication strategies that can help decrease a child’s stress and anxiety and to increase self-esteem and resilience. Parents, students, staff and any community members are invited to hear this important message on Thursday, Oct. 29. The presentation will take place on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the CHS lecture hall and also at 7 p.m. RSVP to tonya.allen@southlakecarroll.edu if you are interested in participating.

Dragon Marching Band Wins Big
The Dragon Marching Band shined recently in the US Bands competition. Carroll competed at C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton against 24 area bands and came home with the 3rd place trophy, and placed 2nd in class. Percussion was awarded 3rd overall, 2nd in class, and the Dragon Color Guard received 5th overall. Read more on MySouthlakeNews.com.

CSHS Art Gallery Exhibit Open Through Oct. 23
The Carroll Senior High Art Gallery is hosting a student exhibit for the Art I students. The exhibit opened Thursday and will be open for viewing during regular school hours until Friday, Oct. 23.

Carroll Honors Cancer Survivors at Oct. 23 Game
Are you a cancer survivor? If so, you are invited to be recognized on the field for the Dragons Pink Out/Relay For Life Night on Friday, Oct. 23 vs. Colleyville Heritage. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and a 7 p.m. pre-game ceremony will be held for survivors. If you are interested in joining the ceremony and receive a free T-shirt please RSVP to Hayley.herring@southlakecarroll.edu with the Board & Community Relations Department. Carroll PTO Craft Fair Coming Nov. 7
The annual Carroll PTO Craft Fair will be held Satruday-Sunday, Nov. 7-8 at Carroll Senior High School, located at 1501 W. Southlake Blvd. It will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 8. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children. Proceeds from the event benefit Project Graduation. College Fair Coming to CSHS
The annual College Fair will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. inside the gyms at Carroll Senior High School. This year’s event expects to draw more than 100 college and universities.

DSO Coming to Southlake Oct. 22
Dallas Symphony Orchestra is returning to Southlake on Oct. 22 at 7:30 pm. Karina Cannelakis will conduct “Pictures at an Exhibition” at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The event is sponsored by Apex Arts League in partnership with Carroll Fine Arts Coalition. Tickets can be purchased at www.mydso.com and are $19 for adults, $15 for seniors and APEX members and $9 for students.

Southlake Style Invites Community to Guest Speaker Event
Southlake Style magazine and Celebrity Cruises cordially invite you to an afternoon with Naturalist Brent Nixon who is featured onboard Celebrity in Alaska. Nixon will be sharing his insight on the wonders of the Alaskan wilderness. Nixon has spent over 30 years learning about and experiencing nature. Tickets for Carroll Senior High School production of the funny musical comedy Young Frankenstein are now on sale. The Carroll Dragons have been paired against the Trinity Trojans in Dave Campbell’s DFW Spirit Award competition sponsored by Papa John’s.
