Carroll Marching Band Continues to Shine
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Carroll Dragon Marching Band received the highest possible ratings at the Region 24 UIL marching contest, held at Standridge Stadium in Carrollton. The band was awarded “Superior 1st Divisions” from all three judges.
Dragon Tennis Team Wins Area Quarterfinal
The Carroll Dragon tennis team defeated Cedar Hill 18-1 to win the Class 6A Region I area quarterfinals. The Dragons play Mansfield in the Area Semifinals Thursday at 9 a.m. at Carroll Senior High School. Follow Dragon tennis on Twitter @SLCTennis.
Student Art on Display at CSHS Gallery Exhibit Through Friday
The Carroll Senior High Art Gallery is hosting a student exhibit for the Art I students. The exhibit opened Thursday and will be open for viewing during regular school hours until Friday.
Dawson Performing Arts Presents Improv Show 2015
Dawson Performing Arts Company presents lunch time Improv Show 2015 on Friday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 12:50 p.m. at Dawson Middle School. All admission proceeds will benefit the Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation and Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Tickets and concessions are $1 each at the door.
Carroll PTO Craft Fair Coming Nov. 7
The annual Carroll PTO Craft Fair will be held Satruday-Sunday, Nov. 7-8 at Carroll Senior High School, located at 1501 W. Southlake Blvd. It will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 8. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children. Proceeds from the event benefit Project Graduation. Cross Country Teams Win District Titles

Carroll Honors Cancer Survivors at Friday’s Game
Are you a cancer survivor? If so, you are invited to be recognized on the field for the Dragons Pink Out/Relay For Life Night on Friday, Oct. 23 vs. Colleyville Heritage. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and a 7 p.m. pre-game ceremony will be held for survivors. Special Programs, PTO for Special Education Host Lunch & Learn on Autism, Behavior Strategies
Join Dr. Daisy Martin, LSSP, and Dr. Julie Harrison, BCBA of CISD’s Behavior Team, as they present an overview of Autism, behavioral strategies to address common behavior concerns, and Autism resources, in order to provide support for parents of children on the spectrum. Carroll Theater Performs “Young Frankenstein”
Carroll Theater Department’s fall production of “Young Frankenstein” will run from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1. Carroll ISD counseling department hosts Erin Smith, M.Ed., LPC, as she shares communication strategies that can help decrease a child’s stress and anxiety and to increase self-esteem and resilience. Parents, students, staff and any community members are invited to hear this important message on Thursday, Oct. 29.
