Party Run Benefits Leukemia Texas
Leukemia Texas, an independent nonprofit corporation dedicated to fighting leukemia, celebrated Leukemia Awareness month as sole beneficiary of the 2nd annual Party Run.
Organized by C.H. Robinson, the Party Run is a 5K race and fun run through the scenic Vitruvian Park. Over 400 competitors came together the night of Friday, Sept. 25. Following the event, Leukemia Texas proudly accepted a check for $35,000, which will directly support leukemia patients in Texas.
“Leukemia Texas is extremely grateful for the generosity of C.H. Robinson and all sponsors, partners and participants. 100% of the funds raised through the Party Run will go directly to leukemia patients right here in our community.” Mandy O’Neill, CEO Leukemia Texas
The evening began with vendors such as Essentia, Camp Gladiator, Beanitos and others offering runners goodies and prizes. Participants also had the option to enter in a chance drawing to win prizes given by The Claim, Fashion Home Furniture and the American Airlines Center. Major sponsors include C.H. Robinson, Constellation Brands and Victoria Beer, Franconia, McGladrey, and Run On.
“We were honored to have the opportunity to put on such a fun event that can have a big impact with a local partner like Leukemia Texas.” C.H. Robinson
The Party Machine Band kicked off the countdown to the start of the race with music that kept everyone moving throughout the evening. After participants crossed the finish line, they enjoyed free beer, wine, and a crowd favorite, In-N-Out Burger.
After medals were handed to the winners, party-goers danced their way to the official after-party sponsored by Addison Ice House, and enjoyed the signature Cocktail for a Cure, where proceeds benefited Leukemia Texas.
Plans are already underway for 2016 with sponsorship and race registration soon available online. For all 2015 details, head over to www.ThePartyRun.com or follow on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
