Northwest ISD is pleased to announce Eric Drewery, Ed.D. as Director of Human Resources.
“I’m thrilled Dr. Drewery is joining the administrative services team, said Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services Kim Caley, Ed.D. “He has served students and staff in our school district for almost ten years. He has a deep understanding of our community as well as the needs for staffing, retention and recruitment for our fast growth school district.”
Dr. Drewery has worked in Northwest ISD since 2008 where he started his journey as an assistant principal at Medlin Middle School and in 2012 became principal of the campus. Prior to a career in NISD, he worked in Katy ISD as a special education teacher and student support specialist. Additionally, he has worked for Stafford Municipal School District, Hope Center Alternative School and Harris County Community Mental Health Centers.
“I am excited to serve the district in this capacity,” said Eric Drewery, Ed.D., director of human resources. “I have enjoyed the nine years I have spent as an administrator at Medlin Middle School, and I will miss the community, staff and students. I am looking forward to building new relationships and collaborating with staff across Northwest ISD in this new role.”
Dr. Drewery has a Doctorate of Education in educational leadership from NOVA Southeastern University, a Master of Science in social work from The University of Texas at Arlington, a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and has completed his superintendent certification from Dallas Baptist University. He has presented at numerous conferences across the state on a variety of topics such as ePortfolio development for students and served on the Texas visioning leadership community development team. In 2015, he was named the Region XI Middle School Principal of the Year.
In his new position, Dr. Drewery will assist in directing, coordinating and managing recruitment, staffing and compensation. Dr. Drewery will finish the year as principal of Medlin Middle School and will begin transitioning into his new role this summer. The school district will begin the search process to find the next principal for Medlin Middle School this summer.
