Southlake: N. White Chapel Water Main Break Update
The City of Southlake Public Works Department continues to repair a 12-inch water line that ruptured this morning before the start of class at Carroll High School at 800 N. White Chapel.
Public Works crews found the leak eight feet below the surface of the ground and immediately began working to repair it. Crews estimate that it will be sometime tomorrow morning, after the start of classes, before the leak is repaired. “We are hoping to have the leak repaired as soon as possible and if that occurs before tomorrow morning we will let our community know through social media,” said Public Works Director Rob Cohen. He added that two-way traffic is flowing to and from the area, but asked drivers to slow down as workers complete the repair.
Parents who pick up and drop off their students at the high school will not be allowed to wait in line on White Chapel before dismissal time. They will be waved through by Southlake Police Officers. “Alternatives to regular pickup include waiting until after the dismissal time or finding an alternative place to pick up your student,” said Police Chief James Brandon.
The City is working closely with Carroll ISD officials to coordinate information released to parents and students and will provide updates throughout the evening at 6:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m., 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning and when the repair is complete.
