Experience Irving ISD Excellence at Community Festival
Where can you find a drone air show, nature tours and fitness fun all in one place? Irving ISD’s inaugural Go Irving festival has the answer. On Saturday, April 14, the excellence of Irving ISD will be on display in a mega showcase for the whole community.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Singley Academy, located at 4601 N. MacArthur in Irving. All three floors of the school, as well as its lawn and adjacent Outdoor Learning Center, will be transformed into an exhibition featuring each Irving ISD campus and district-level programs.
A full schedule is in place with much for guests to see and do. From forensic experiments to cosmetology services, guests can also sample treats prepared by culinary arts students, purchase student-made products, and round out the day with live entertainment, giveaways and a district job fair.
“I am product of this school district and a proud graduate of Irving High School, so I’ve seen the many wonderful opportunities this district has to offer,” says Larry Stipes, president of the Irving ISD Board of Trustees. “Now it is your turn to experience the excellence of Irving ISD. There’ll be something for the entire community.”
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors like Sky Zone Irving and McDonald’s, the event is completely free to the public. That’s free parking, free food and free family fun.
“Go Irving is a premier community showcase, highlighting the limitless student opportunities available in Irving ISD,” says Irving ISD Superintendent of Schools Jose L. Parra, Ed.D. “This is an event you don’t want to miss.”
