Colleyville: City Council reviews updated Plaza designs
City Council reviewed the latest design concepts for a Plaza outside City Hall at the April 17 worksession. The updated plans were based on City Council and community feedback.
The updated design features a rectangle green space with an elevated stage or platform for performances, amphitheater seating, shade structure, a fountain, and materials and look that complement City Hall and the Library.
The City is looking to work with the consultant Freese and Nichols to take the concept and create construction documents.
The City Council is looking to create a usable plaza space in front of City Hall for people to enjoy and to bring the community together for city events such as the Christmas Tree Lighting, concerts, movie screenings, and more.
The City purchased the land for the Plaza in 2017. The initial plan for a plaza was part of the creation of the Tax Increment Financing District (TIF) in 1998.
