KISD: KHS Softball Headed For Regional Quarterfinals
The two-time defending State Champion Keller Indians softball team is headed to the Regional Quarterfinals after its Area Round win.
Keller High won an Area Championship on Friday, May 4, run-ruling Wolfforth Frenship 10-0 in one-game series played in Coahoma. It marks the sixth consecutive season the Indians have advanced to the Regional Quarterfinals.
Next up for KHS is a one-game playoff against District 4-6A Champion Mansfield on Friday May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Weatherford College (225 College Park Dr in Weatherford).
Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Keller will be the home team.
Timber Creek, the only team to hand Keller High a district loss this year, saw its season come to an end in the Area Round. After losing Game 1 of the best-of-three series 13-4, the Falcons bounced back to win Game 2 8-2 on Friday. In the deciding game Saturday morning, however, Permian pulled out the 7-1 win. Congratulations to Timber Creek Softball on an outstanding season!
