NISD: Byron Nelson taking part in May 19 workout competition to raise money for charity

Byron Nelson High School and Southlake Carroll High School will take part in Crossfit Trophy Club’s first WOD (Workout of the Day) With Your Squad event on Saturday, May 19, to raise money for a local organization that helps victims of human trafficking.

The event allows teams of two – in either male or female categories at both the adult and student level – to compete in a workout for the chance at a top-three podium finish. Adult competitors will compete at 8 a.m., while student competitors will compete at 10 a.m. The competition will take place at Crossfit Trophy Club, located at 133 Marshall Creek Road, which is across the street from the Medlin Middle School practice track and football field.

Adult teams are $70 and student teams are $50, with proceeds benefiting Treasured Vessels Foundation, which provides housing, education and support for those affected by human trafficking.

In addition to teams competing for top-three podium places, the competition will also monitor results from Byron Nelson and Southlake Carroll adults and students to see which school is crowned the fittest.

Teams must register by May 11 to be guaranteed a T-shirt, though they can register until the day of the event. To register for the competition, click here.
