Watauga: Texas Internship Challenge

Watauga: Texas Internship Challenge

Watauga commends and supports the Texas Internship Challenge! The challenge is a partnership between the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Texas Education Agency (TEA) and The Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), who challenge employers to offer paid internships and make it easy for students to search and apply for them.

The campaign challenges employers to offer more internships; educational institutions to promote opportunities to young adults; and encourages young adults to apply for and participate in internships.

With over 500,000+ employers in Texas, one million Texas young adults age 18 to 24 are potentially available for internships. Recent surveys show that sixty percent of employers prefer candidates with internship experience and over seventy-three percent of interns are offered a full-time position.
