KISD Education Foundation Begins Search For Executive Director
The Keller ISD Education Foundation is beginning its search for an Executive Director.
Keller ISD Education Foundation Logo The Keller ISD Education Foundation’s mission is to support, fund and promote educational excellence, innovation and creativity in Keller ISD. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that exists to help bridge the public education funding gap within the school district through strategic financial support. KEF’s support includes innovative teaching grants, scholarships and large district initiatives that would otherwise be difficult to launch without our funding support.
The Executive Director is the key management leader of the Keller ISD Education Foundation and develops, owns, and implements strategic plans that meet impact goals and objectives created in partnership with the Board of Directors & Key Stakeholder Groups. The position reports directly to and provides leadership for an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Competency requirements are fundraising, marketing, community outreach, and financial oversight. Major key duties include the following:
-Creates strategies for engaging new partners/donors and new funding sources for the Foundation; determines prioritization for maximum impact.
-Strengthens existing donor relationships through donor stewardship and develops communications that continually re-engage our partners.
-Tracks and manages new and existing donors in our CRM system; exhibits data-driven decision making and strategic guidance.
-Communicates in a consistent, effective and timely manner with the Board of Directors.
-Exhibits a growth mindset to build a strong Board of Directors, effective committees and engaged volunteers with a goal of long-term sustainability for the Foundation, including succession planning.
-Collaborates with all levels of stakeholders to achieve goals.
-Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the Keller ISD Education Foundation, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
-Commands knowledge of fiscal management that anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
-Successful in partnership discovery and partnership creation in order to cultivate resources necessary to support KISD Education Foundation’s mission.
-Develops engagement activities which heighten the visibility, presence and position of KISD Education Foundation as an essential community resource and a convener of discussions on community-based public education funding solutions and innovation in education.
-Builds connections to KISD Education Foundation by engaging community leaders, potential partners and collaborators to foster community building through long-term partnerships. Identifies and establishes partnerships that will reach new and underserved audiences through outreach programs, events and online activities. Positions KISD Education Foundation as a catalyst for community dialogue and change through strategic outreach campaigns.
-Works with the Marketing Chair to create and manage a comprehensive engagement communications strategy with message continuity across KISD Education Foundation Committees and KISD.
-Develops engagement plans and evaluates proposed projects to assure they are aligned with, and support, the Foundation’s Strategic Business Plan/5 Year Plan.
-As the “voice of the Foundation,” we seek an articulate and enthusiastic communicator who conveys passion for our mission both in frequent public speaking as well as in social media/marketing/PR.
-Collaborates to work effectively with others on common tasks; takes actions which respect the needs and contributions of others; contributes to and accepts the consensus; negotiates a win-win solution to achieve the objectives of the Foundation’s strategic vision and mission. Demonstrates the ability to relate to multiple constituencies.
-Cultivates volunteers through recruitment, training and management program.
-Strives to continuously improve through professional development, education, & training.
-Applicants will be scored on level of education (MS preferred, BS/BA required), public speaking proficiency, Nonprofit Management/Public Administration degree or equivalent experience, Finance degree or equivalent experience, proven track record of procuring annual or major gifts, and also demonstrating an understanding of Texas public education finance and knowledge of Keller ISD.
