Colleyville: Red, White & Sousa goes Country

Colleyville’s annual Red, White & Sousa celebration returns Friday, June 22, to Colleyville Center this time with a Country twang.

The nine-time Grammy award winning Country band Asleep at the Wheel will bring a sound so definitively American to an event celebrating this country.

The Austin-based band has been around since the 70s and in that time has released more than 20 albums with more than 20 singles on the Billboard charts with “The Letter That Johnny Walker Read” reaching No. 10. Their music genre has been defined as Ameripolitan, Texas country, and western swing.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. and gourmet food trucks will be lined up on Riverwalk Drive at 6:30 p.m. Lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers are welcome. General seating is free. Limited reserved seating will be sold with more information when available. Reserved seating is available for purchase from the Colleyville Library. Tables of 4 are on sale for $35 and tables of 6 are $45.

Parking and General information:

The concert will take place on the grounds on the north side of the Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Drive.
The performance begins at 8 p.m.
Food Truck Park and Reserved Seating opens at 6:30 p.m.
Tents or large canopies are not allowed.
The Food Truck Park opens at 6:30 p.m. and will remain open through the duration of the concert.
Outside food and drinks may also be brought to the event.

General parking:

General parking is encouraged to enter Church Street from Colleyville Boulevard/SH26. Church Street parking is available in the Lifetime Fitness, 1221 Church Street, or Colleyville Town Center, 5605 Colleyville Blvd., shopping center parking lots.

If lots are full, remote lots with free shuttle service to and from the event is available at First Colleyville Church, 5300 Colleyville Blvd. Remote parking can be found by traveling west on Church Street crossing over Colleyville Blvd. Staff will be located on Church Street directing vehicles into available spots.

Riverwalk Drive will be closed to all traffic south of Bluebonnet Road. Bluebonnet Road is also closed from Riverwalk Drive to the Colleyville Center.

Handicap / Limited Mobility / Special needs parking:

Anyone with special needs is asked to park behind the Colleyville Center. Enter Bluebonnet Road from Glade Road and travel north to the parking lot where staff will direct you into the parking lot. Complimentary cart service will be provided to assist you from your vehicle to the event.

Bluebonnet Road from Riverwalk Drive to the Colleyville Center will be closed. All vehicles needing to park in the handicap lot MUST enter from Glade Road.

Ride Share Drop-off and Pickup:

Anyone using a ride share services should use the address of 5201 Riverwalk Drive where a dedicated pickup and drop-off area is located directly in front of the Colleyville Justice Center.
