Colleyville: City Approves Asphalt Pavement Contract, John McCain and L.D. Lockett to see repairs soon
The City Council approved a construction contract at its July 17 meeting for the 2018 Asphalt Pavement Improvement Project. This project includes rehabilitation of L.D. Lockett Road, John McCain Road, Thompson Terrace, Oak Timbers Court, and additional miscellaneous repairs.
The City utilized the expanded bidding process for the contract, which helped to receive nine bids and ensured the City received the best pricing for the project. The winning bid went to TexasBit for $864,890. John McCain Road and L.D. Lockett Road were originally slated for full reconstruction, similar to the recent Pleasant Run Road project. Upon further discussion, the City opted for a mill and overlay process with base repairs to shorten project duration and resident disruption while SH26 is under construction. The result will
be a quality road with minimal impact to motorists.
The City prioritizes a proactive and preventative street maintenance program that will maximize the life of our streets. Maintaining infrastructure and addressing issues before they happen is a top priority of the City.
