KISD Fine Arts Director Named TETA Administrator of the Year
Kim Blann, Keller ISD Fine Arts Director, has been named the Texas Educational Theatre Association, Inc. (TETA) Administrator of the Year.
Headshot of Fine Arts Director Kim Blann The Administrator of the Year Award is given annual in recognition of outstanding support of the field of educational theatre. As this year’s recipient, Blann will be recognized at TETA’s TheatreFest Awards Ceremony on September 28, in Dallas.
TETA’s Board of Directors will also be recognizing Keller ISD as a whole for its continuous efforts to support the organization and TheatreFest.
Blann has served as Keller ISD’s Director of Fine Arts since 2012, overseeing nearly 200 fine arts teachers. Prior to that, she spent six years teaching theatre on the high school level. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing.
Blann has also served various local and state organizations. She is a founder and past president of TTAC, the Texas Theatre Administrators Conference, is the past Administrators Chair for the Texas Educational Theatre Association, and a current adjudicator and member of TTAO. Blann also serves on the UIL Theatre Advisory Committee, and the Region Executive Music Committee. Blann is proud to be a former TETA Founders Award Winner, and believes strongly in the support TETA provides for Texas theatre educators.
“It is incredible to be recognized by TETA as the Administrator of the Year,” Blann said. “Although this award is an amazing honor, my true honor is to work and serve the best fine arts educators around. We are fortunate to have passionate educators working with our students in KISD, and I am glad to have the opportunity to work alongside them.”
Blann has a passion for bringing attention and support to all the arts. She is grateful for the love and support of her husband, Josh Blann, and son Beckett.
