640 Keller ISD Career and Technical Education Students Participate in Mock Interviews
In an effort to help prepare students for future career prospects, 640 Keller ISD Career and Technical Education students are taking part in mock interviews with 130 business professionals September 25-26.
The mock interviews will take place at the Keller Center for Advanced Learning (KCAL) located at 201 Bursey Road in Keller. Professionals will interview CTE students studying a variety of disciplines from audio-visual production and cosmetology, to health sciences and engineering.
“We are beyond excited about the number of student participants, as our numbers have nearly tripled just since last year,” Keller ISD CTE Director Leslee Shepherd said. “We know mock interviews have a significant impact on a student’s preparation for future job interviews.”
The program benefits students through constructive feedback from industry professionals, resume refinement, interview preparation, networking, polishing soft skills, and building confidence.
“I participated last year and will again this year,” Keller ISD Superintendent Dr. Rick Westfall said. “It is such a positive learning experience that helps the next generation of job-seekers avoid common mistakes and sharpen those necessary ‘real-world’ skills.”
