Fort Worth: Traffic switch for U.S. 287 and Blue Mound Road frontage roads begins soon
A lane closure and traffic switch is planned for the U.S. 287 and Blue Mound Road West interchange project.
One southbound lane on U.S. 287 at the Blue Mound Road interchange will be closed Feb. 24-25 to complete pavement work for the relocated on-ramp for southbound U.S. 287.
The existing southbound U.S. 287 on-ramp will remain open during the lane closure.
Traffic will switch beginning March 1 on both U.S. 287 frontage roads south of Blue Mound Road West. The frontage road between the northbound U.S. 287 off-ramp and Blue Mound Road will be converted to two northbound lanes. The frontage road between Blue Mound Road and the relocated southbound U.S. 287 on-ramp will be converted to two southbound lanes.
The traffic switch will improve the interchange safety and improve traffic signal operations.
Drivers should watch for workers in the area, pay attention to all road signs and new traffic patterns.
This is a joint project between the City of Fort Worth, Texas Department of Transportation, Northwest ISD and Tarrant County.
