NISD: Adams students graduate from FWPD Teen Academy

Adams Middle School students recently graduated from the Fort Worth Police Department’s Teen Academy, a six-week course that provides guidance for those interested in entering careers in law enforcement.

The academy took place every Monday evening during its duration, when students learned from Fort Worth Police Department school resource officers and academy personnel. Adams had the largest student group of any school in attendance, with 15 students participating in the program.

Adams students were led by Officer Dan Bailey, the school SRO, who drove students to the lessons and provided guidance during each meeting.

Students involved in the program included Ally Ayala, Brooklyn Brooks, Bianka Bruno, Andrew Cunningham, Kyla Dovers, David Edwardson, Hailey Emery, Jasmine Espinosa, Nathan Gamboa, Tanner Hills, Tanithya Lawrence, Nathan Luedicke, Duncan Rodriguez, Nicole Rodriguez and Arianna Smith-Anderson.

Notably, Nathan Luedicke earned an award at the course for having the best male performance in the physical assessment test, or PAT, with a time of 1 minute and 43 seconds. The PAT is a required physical agility test that all Fort Worth police officers must pass to become an academy candidate.
