Irving ISD: Elementary Artists Excel in State Competition

Irving ISD: Elementary Artists Excel in State Competition

Several Irving ISD elementary visual artists are being celebrated by the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) for their talent. Students from Barton, Farine, Keyes, Lee and Lively elementary schools participated in the Texas Elementary Art Meet (TEAM), an event which recognizes exemplary student artwork in the elementary division. Each year, art teachers who are TAEA members are invited to submit pieces created by their students for review and assessment based on state standards. This year, four Irving ISD students placed in the top 10 percent, earning “Top of TEAM” certificates and a chance to have their creations displayed on the association’s website. Congratulations to:

  • Sabrina Ahmad, fourth grade – Farine Elementary
  • Tenesi Biekert, kindergarten – Barton Elementary
  • Kimora Lockett, fourth grade – Lee Elementary
  • Khloe Tilmon, second grade – Barton Elementary
