NISD: Byron Nelson’s Tammy McClure wins State Advisor of the Year Award
The Texas Association of Student Councils has named Byron Nelson’s Tammy McClure as the winner of its Eddie G. Bull State Advisor of the Year Award, the state’s top honor in her profession.
Ms. McClure, the Byron Nelson Student Council advisor, earned the award for the 2018-19 school year at the high school level to highlight her contributions made to students. Her application was selected following its review by the TASC Board of Directors, who looked at her activities supported on an individual basis as well as her personal statements and philosophies regarding student advising.
With her win, Ms. McClure becomes the second Northwest ISD advisor to receive the award, following Mary Whittenberg of Northwest High School in 1997. The award began in 1989.
The Eddie G. Bull State Advisor of the Year Award is named for the TASC advisor of more than 30 years who believes student council is “all about the kids,” with his eponymous honor going to an advisor who reflects this belief.
