Colleyville: City Secures Grant for Beautification Efforts

Colleyville: City Secures Grant for Beautification Efforts
The City of Colleyville is excited to partner with TxDOT for a project to improve the landscape on SH26 from Brown Trail to Cheek-Sparger.
Staff received notice that TxDOT awarded Colleyville a Green Ribbon Grant to enhance the landscape design on the south end of SH26 in Colleyville. The grant provides $172,000 to fund the project.
The ongoing SH26 road project runs from the north of town to Brown Trail. Once work is finished, there will be new roads, lighting, medians, and landscaping. Staff sought grant money to continue the enhanced looks throughout the city limits. The grant money will help the City further its beautification efforts while saving taxpayers money.
The purpose of the TXDOT Green Ribbon Program is to improve the visual character of highway corridors and minimize the negative impacts of air pollution through the planting of trees and shrubs.
This project is still in the early stages and staff are working on a project timeline.
