KISD: KHS Softball Falls In State Semifinals
Keller High School’s varsity softball team fell 1-0 to Katy in the UIL Class 6A State Semifinals on Friday, May 31, ending another successful season for the Indians.
After five and a half scoreless innings, Katy managed to push across a run in the bottom of the sixth on a double steal with runners on the corners. Keller out-hit the Tigers in the game 4-3, and Indians pitcher Dylann Kaderka struck out four in the game, only giving up the one run.
The loss ended Keller’s bid for a third state title in four years, but it was another exceptional campaign for KHS as it went undefeated in District 5-6A on the way to another district championship, and then swept through the postseason, winning all of its playoff games to advance to the UIL State Tournament in Austin. The trip to the State Tournament was the Indians’ ninth visit all time, having won State Titles in 2003, 2005, 2016, and 2017.
Congratulation to Keller High on another amazing season!
