Watauga: New Ordinance Amendments Passed During May Council Meeting
During the May 2019 Council Meeting, the Watauga City Council passed amendments to the Municipal Code affecting E-Cigarettes, the Adoption of a Smoking Ordinance and Amendments affecting Backyard Chickens.
Ordinance 1699 amended Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances by providing additional definitions as well as clarification regarding the prohibited uses of electronic cigarettes in City facilities and in public places.
Ordinance 1700-A amended Chapter 26 by adopting Article VII in order to establish a Smoking Ordinance and also repealed existing section 28-1, which previously regulated smoking in City facilities.
Ordinance 1702 adopted Chapter 6, Article VII, Division 3 of the Code of Ordinances by providing for the creation of regulations concerning backyard chickens.
Ordinance 1703 amended Chapter 12, Section 12-6 of the Code by establishing fees and fines regarding backyard chickens.
