Keller ISD Announces New Director of Early Childhood

Keller ISD is excited to announce that Dr. Carrie Pearson-Nelson has joined the District as KISD’s new Director of Early Childhood.

 

Dr. Pearson-Nelson returns to KISD where she worked as a teacher from 2006-07. In 2008, she moved to the Sacramento, California, area where she continued working as a teaching coach and later transitioned to campus administration. She most recently served as the Principal at Carroll Elementary School in Elk Grove USD.

 

Overall, Dr. Pearson-Nelson has 24 years in education, including four years as a campus principal, two years as an assistant principal, two years as a coordinator of curriculum and instruction, and two years as an early childhood education program specialist.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso, along with Masters and Doctorate degrees from California State University at Sacramento.

 

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Carrie Pearson-Nelson as a valued member of the Curriculum and Instruction Department,” said Sara Koprowski, Keller ISD Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “She has extensive knowledge and passion surrounding early childhood education from the campus and district-level positions she has held in both California and Texas. We look forward to continuing to support and promote Early Learning in Keller ISD.”

 

Dr. Carrie Pearson-Nelson began her role on Monday, July 15.
