KISD: 12 KCAL Students Earn Lone Star Ffa Degree

KISD: 12 KCAL Students Earn Lone Star Ffa Degree

Twelve Keller ISD students who attend the Keller Center for Advanced Learning earned the Lone Star FFA Degree, the most prestigious award that FFA members can achieve in the state of Texas.

Students earned the Lone Star FFA Degree for their efforts and achievements as FFA members over the past 3-4 years in agriculture and veterinary science programs. Of the nearly 120,000 FFA Members in Texas, fewer than two percent achieve the honor, which requires students to complete a strenuous list of requirementsincluding completing at least four semesters of agricultural science at or above the ninth grade level, maintaining a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program, investing significant time and money in their SAE, demonstrating their leadership skills, and showing a commitment to the FFA through involvement at the chapter level and above.

It is the first time in the KCAL FFA Chapter’s short history that students have been eligible to earn the award.
