Watauga: Water Outage – Indian Springs, Alta Vista, Loma Vista, Courtside, Crestview, Cypress, Clearbrook, Cr

Water Outage – Indian Springs, Alta Vista, Loma Vista, Courtside, Crestview, Cypress, Clearbrook, Crossbow, & Recreation Center

Update – 4:45 PM– Water service should be fully restored.  If you are experiencing water issues please call 817-514-5897.  We will assist as best we can.  We appreciate everyone’s patience during this valve replacement.  We originally had this planned for Saturday at mid-night, but a last minute staffing issue made us revise the schedule.  So sorry, it did not go as planned.

Update – 3:00 PM – The valve is installed and they are loading (filling the water main with water) now.  They will be checking for leaks, if none are found, they will continue to load the main and water will start to be restored to homes.  Loading the main takes a couple hours, so by 5:00 PM if all goes well, all homes should have full water pressure.  At some point during the load, your home will have some water pressure.  Please note, Loma Vista and Alta Vista will be the last street to be loaded.

Update – 12:00 PM – The crew is progressing and the old valve and pipe have been removed.  They will be placing the new valve, testing for leaks, and then filling the water mains again.  I expect the install to be done by 1:30 and then start testing and filling the water main.  Please note, it takes time to fill the water mains, so, it still looks like 4:00 PM before full water service is restored.   However, the sections near Courtside Subdivision shall fill first along with service on Indian Springs followed by Alta Vista and Loma Vista.  We appreciate your patience.

Original Post:

Last night (at mid-night), the Public Works Department started a water valve replacement at Alta Vista and Indian Springs.  We anticipated the work to be complete by 6:00 AM this morning.  Unfortunately, we ran into an issue with the existing valve removal.

Our crews are working to replace the valve and hopefully, it will go quickly.  However, these locations may be without water until 4:00 PM today.  We will work to make it sooner.

If you need bottled water delivered to your home, please call 817-514.5806 and we shall bring some to your home.  We apologize for the major inconvenience.  If you have a true medical emergency, please call 911.

The recreation center is temporarily closed, but some activities are being allowed to operate.  The restrooms are closed.  Please call before heading over 817-514-5828.
