GCISD – Coronavirus (COVID-19)

GCISD – Coronavirus (COVID-19)

GCISD staff and families,

In Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. It is a tremendous responsibility and one that we take very seriously. We are monitoring the updates and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will continue to do so over Spring Break.

In an effort to support a safe learning and teaching environment for students and staff, we are asking all members of the GCISD community to complete a brief travel survey before returning to school on Monday, March 16. There are two survey options: one for families and staff that have not or are not traveling to a Level 1, 2 or 3 country. The other survey is for families that have traveled or are traveling to a Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 country. To view, a list of CDC identified Level 1, 2 or 3 countries, click here. Please complete the survey by Friday, March 13 at midnight.

For those who complete the second survey indicating travel to a CDC identified Level 2 or 3 countries, GCISD will ask those individuals to self-quarantine for 14 days and contact Tarrant County Public Health. For information from the CDC regarding the steps that need to be taken during a self-quarantine, please reference their CARE (Care and Report Every Day) guidelines. For those who indicate they or a member of their household have traveled to a Level 1 country, GCISD will ask individuals to monitor for possible signs and symptoms for 14-days.

We also understand that after completing the survey, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may place additional countries on the Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 health notice. If you have traveled to a Level 2 or Level 3 country within 14-days at the time it is placed on the list, we ask that families and staff self-identify to their campus or direct supervisor and institute a 14-day self-quarantine. If you have traveled to a Level 1 country within 14-days at the time it is placed on the list, we ask that you monitor for possible signs and symptoms for 14-days since returning home.
