Upcoming Communication to Families

As we move forward with the fourth-nine weeks and new learning opportunities, teachers will track student participation, monitor student progress, provide individual feedback to the student and note completion of work. Campuses will provide further updates regarding grades as we progress with GCISD Learning@Home.

This week, campus principals will resume their regular schedule of the parent newsletter providing you more specific information. Therefore, district communication will transition to at least once a week with the exception of major district announcements.

GCISD To Remain Closed Through April 17

Last Friday, GCISD announced that after consulting with Tarrant County Health officials, the District is joining other area school districts in extending its emergency closure. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, GCISD will be closed through April 17. Online learning and meal service will continue throughout the closure. The complete message from Friday can be viewed here.

WiFi Access Coming to Some GCISD Parking Lots

Parents, students and staff will now be able to access the GCISD Wireless network from their vehicles in different parking lots across the District. To better serve our community and work towards our goal of removing barriers for students during the closure, the GCISD Administration Building, Cross Timbers Middle School, Dove Elementary School, and Timberline Elementary School will be the first four locations that allow vehicles to park and connect to WiFi.

Once parked, any GCISD device will be able to connect to the GCISD Wireless network. The GCISD Guest network will also be accessible in the marked locations. A password is not needed to access the GCISD Guest network, but guests will be asked to enter their name.

To ensure you can connect to WiFi, please view the maps below that indicate the best place to park at each location.

Meal Delivery Locations Changing Starting Today

Beginning today, GCISD meal delivery locations will change due to lower turnout at some of the original locations. We will be offering meals at three new locations, and all locations are listed here. Buses will stay at each location for approximately 10 minutes Monday through Friday.

As with our curbside service, any student 18 years or younger will receive breakfast and lunch. All students and families must practice social distancing while waiting in line for a meal and receiving the meal from the person on the bus. Thank you for your cooperation!

If you have questions about this service, please email We hope that you are able to continue visiting our curbside services at Bear Creek Elementary, Timberline Elementary or Grapevine Middle School.

NOTE: Also beginning today, meals at Grapevine Middle will be available at the rear of the building. Cars will still be asked to proceed to the front of GMS before being directed to the rear. View the map for details.
