NISD – School building closure extended to April 17

NISD – School building closure extended to April 17

The following message was sent to Northwest ISD families and staff on Friday, March 27.

TO:             Northwest ISD Parents, Caregivers, and Staff

FROM:       Ryder Warren, Superintendent of Schools

SUBJECT:   NISD School Buildings Closed Through Friday, April 17

I hope everyone is safe at home and that you and your families are well!

As we have been working with Northwest ISD’s three different counties and our multiple cities regarding the safety orders that have been mandated, the decision has been made to extend the closure of all NISD school buildings through Friday, April 17, 2020.

Please know that I will update the decision for you every Friday. If the closure decision needs to be extended past April 17 as we get more information about the COVID-19 challenge, we will communicate that with you. Making the decision now also allows NISD’s academic teams, our students, and our parents and caregivers to plan accordingly for home instructional support.

I will discuss this decision during my April 1 Facebook Live presentation to provide families and staff members the chance to ask more questions about this challenge. Thank you for all you are doing for our children, and please communicate to us the support you need to get through this very weird time in our lives.

I appreciate each and every one of you!

Ryder Warren, Superintendent of Schools
