Fort Worth Bike Sharing rolls along, with enhanced hygiene, social distancing protocols
During the COVID-19 shutdown, Fort Worth Bike Sharing will continue to provide services for certain essential activities and as an essential business.
Bike sharing is a viable option for socially-distant transportation, a link to other transportation services, a relied-upon vehicle for a number of food delivery workers and a needed outlet for responsible outdoor cycling recreation.
Fort Worth Bike Sharing operations will continue with an enhanced protocol for personal hygiene and social distancing among employees, increased sanitization measures for equipment and in workspaces, and communications to riders regarding hygiene and social distancing.
These daily procedures are in place to reduce the risk of coming in contact with COVID-19:
- Spraying all bike handlebars, seats, shifters, bells and brake levers with disinfectant.
- Wiping kiosk screens and dock pads with disinfectant wipes.
- Continuing to practice personal cleanliness and handwashing best practices.
- Thoroughly cleaning all equipment, tools and parts.
Riders should wash their hands with disinfectant soap and hot water for the recommended 20 seconds or longer after any trip, just as they would after any other activity.
