Fourth FWPD officer tests positive for COVID-19
A fourth Fort Worth Police Department officer has tested positive for COVID-19. The officer has been off work since March 20, is home recovering and doing well.
The Fort Worth Police Department is taking precautions to stop the virus spread. A dedicated team is investigating and backtracking the movements and encounters of each infected officer. Anyone who may be at risk and may need to self-isolate is being contacted.
FWPD is disinfecting vehicles and office spaces where these officers worked. City leaders and the Fort Worth Police Officers’ Association (FWPOA) have offered assistance.
Offers to assist can be directed to the FWPOA at 817-870-2171.
