TZU CHI FOUNDATION DONATES 9,600 FACE MASKS TO CEDAR HILL ISD
The Cedar Hill Independent School District is incredibly grateful to receive a donation of 9,600 face masks from the local chapter of the Tzu Chi Foundation, based in Richardson.
The masks will be used by seniors at their graduation ceremony, as well as staff members.
“This is such a generous donation by an organization that is committed to scholar success and safety,” CHISD Superintendent Dr. Gerald Hudson said.
The donation was made possible when CHISD Director of Family and Community Engagement Alicia Davis connected with Tzu Chi Dallas Executive Director, Brother Y.L. Ling, whom she had known while working at a previous district.
Ling and fellow Tzu Chi members traveled to Cedar Hill last Friday to present the face masks to the CHISD Administration.
“We are glad to help,” Ling said. “We are a global organization, headquartered in Taiwan, and we are willing to help those who need it, with supplying masks.”
Ling said the Tzu Chi Foundation has donated more than one million masks, including donations in school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
