CPA at North Richland Hills

The North Richland Hills Police Department is holding a Citizens Police Academy (CPA) August 28 through November 13. Classes will be held on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon. During this 12-week course, participants will learn about patrol procedures, dispatch operations, SWAT operations and crime scene search, as well as many other law enforcement subjects.

The CPA is open to NRH residents and those who work in North Richland Hills. There is no cost to participate, but space is limited and advanced registration is required. An online application is available on the CPA web page at

Applications are also being accepted for the 2014 Citizens Civic Academy. The academy willbe held on Tuesday evenings from September 16 through October 28. The purpose of this academy is to familiarize citizens with the structure, functions and activities of North Richland Hills government and encourage citizens to become involved in their community. Class sessions cover a broad range of city departments, operations and volunteer opportunities.

The Citizens Civic Academy class size is limited to 20 people. More information and an application can be found at or by calling 817-427-6015.

If you are interested in being more involved in our community, the Citizens Police Academy and Citizens Civic Academy are a great place to start. I hope you will take the time to participate in these informative programs.
