KISD Athletic Director Recognized at National Level
Keller ISD Athletic Director Bob DeJonge was recently named President of the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA) for the 2014-15 school year.
The THSADA is one of the largest athletic administrator organizations in the nation, with approximately 600 junior high, high school and college administrators within the state of Texas. The primary purpose of THSASA is to provide members with professional development, leadership and support opportunities conducive to effective athletic administration.
“Bob served last year as the President-elect of the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association and it is with great excitement that we look forward to a continued advancement and development under his leadership and vision as the new President of the THSADA,” said THSADA Executive Director Rusty Dowling. “He will be on the forefront of all THSADA concerns and issues regarding state-wide initiatives as well as programs and development that specifically affect the THSADA. Bob’s reputation within the State of Texas is outstanding as he is considered one of the most respected athletic administrators in Texas.”
Nominated by the THSADA, DeJonge was also recently honored as the recipient of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Distinguished Service Award.
“I am both humbled and honored to be this year’s President and look forward to working with our Executive Director, Board and Regional Directors in service of our membership,” DeJonge said. “I am also very proud to represent Keller ISD in my service to THSADA.”
DeJonge has worked in the District since 1991, beginning as a teacher and coach at Keller High School. He has also held positions in KISD as Secondary Curriculum Facilitator and Director of Secondary Curriculum prior to becoming the Athletic Director in 2001.
