Arts Council Northeast and the City of Hurst present:  Free Concert

Arts Council Northeast and the City of Hurst are pleased to welcome The Philharmonic Winds Woodwind Quintet for a concert on August 28, 2014, 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hurst Public Library located at 901 Precinct Line Rd .

The Philharmonic Winds Woodwind Quintet was formed out of the New Philharmonic Orchestra in response to a need for small ensembles. The group, consisting of principal players, has played together with very little change in personnel since. The quintet performs a variety of woodwind quintet music spanning the gamut of music from classical to pops. The Philharmonic Winds performs not only in performance settings, but also for weddings and receptions and as background music to various types of meetings.
The members are Janice Spooner, flute; Rashaad Calaham, oboe; Fran Harris, clarinet; Ralph Wilson, horn; and Sue Wilson, Bassoon.

Through the MasterWorks Series, Arts Council Northeast and the City of Hurst present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The MasterWorks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.
